Jereme Richmond of Waukegan Hits Game Winning Half Court Shot Against Warren
HS Basketball

The Best Buzzer Beater From This Past Week Wasn't Even From A College Game

Considering how many college conference tournaments were going on this last week, you'd expect at least one or two of them to have some ridiculous ending where a dude hits a 50-foot shot while jumping out of bounds. And yet, I can't think of a single college game where anything close to that happened.

Good thing we have high school basketball, where kids have been hitting insane buzzer beater after insane buzzer beater all year. The most recent one, and probably the most awesome one, came in the Illinois state playoffs on Friday. Future University of Illinois products Jereme Richmond of Waukegan and Brandon Paul of Warren battled the entire evening, with Paul putting Warren up by one with 4.7 seconds remaining. That led to Richmond hitting one of the biggest half court shots you'll ever see.

Man, I just hope he wasn't crushed to death under that pile.

I cant wait to get both of those kids in the orange and blue.  The future looks so bright for Bruce Weber and the Illini nation
