Josh Childress Seems To Be Adjusting To Greece Quite Well
>7 days ago
Obviously one of the big stories this past week has been the decision by Josh Childress not to resign with Atlanta and instead go abroad to play in Greece for a boatload of cash.
Naturally, I think we all have some questions about this landmark decision. Will Childress have a tough time adjusting to Greece? Will the language barrier hurt his play? How will his new teammates, who will be earning significantly less than him, treat him? And who will he go clubbing with?
But then I remember that this guy is being paid more than $30 million to come to town, and all of that money has been made non-taxable specifically for him. He's be the biggest thing to hit Greece since gyros. He can do whatever he damn well pleases, and his team will make sure of that. He could probably shoot people on the streets of Athens and the cops will simply say "Keep up the good work, Josh."
And don't worry anyway, he's already adjusting quite well, as evidenced by this video clip of him chilling at a club right after he signed his new contract with Athens Olympiakos.
Must be nice to be able to wander into a club where you know literally no one and can instantly claim top spot on stage next to the evening's main act.
Yeah, I think Childress is going to be just fine in Greece. The only thing he'll have to get used to is Europeans spinning songs in clubs that were last popular when he was in high school.
