A couple years ago, Kaspars Daugavins made a pretty incredible shootout goal in an AHL game.It made all the highlight reels, got a boatload of YouTube views, and everyone raved about it.
Yesterday, he attempted the same shot in an NHL game.
Perhaps Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask saw the video of Daugavins' first attempt, because he was having no part of this one, and made an incredible save to help preserve the shootout win for the Bruins.
Here's the video:
And in case you're wondering how this was SUPPOSED to work, here's Daugavins' successful attempt from back in 2010:

I saw this live, it looked ridiculous from the get go.

B) The save Rask made to get his pad out just in time to stop the puck on the goal line was the best part.
Of course it didn't get nearly the love it deserved
I agree, that ridiculous save trumped the shot.

I had to back up the DVR a bunch just to watch this. So much fun. I guess since we didn't get our SuperSkills Comp this year when the All-Star game was cancelled, someone had to pull something like this sooner or later. God I love hockey.
