Fortunately, I can say safely say that I've never been in the same position as Timberwolves fans this week. The only athlete I've ever really obsessed over was Michael Jordan. I was young, he was awesome. His retirement was a little difficult to handle, but at least he wasn't traded to another team (Of course, he did play for the Wizards but I've decided to block out that whole deal).
So while I can't truly empathize, I can sympathize with the difficulty TWolves faithful must be going through. Except I totally underestimated the feeling. After watching this video tribute ... just wow ... they loved KG more than anyone could possibly imagine ... (Warning jengirrl2007: may cause tears)
That, or they're really good at putting together a tribute video with the necessary inclusion of Sarah McLachlan.Kevin, what can we say that would even scratch the surface of what you’ve meant to us these past twelve seasons? Just know that you’re in our hearts, in our prayers, and we will always, always be behind you 100%. When you raise that trophy into the air there will be the same tears in our eyes had you been raising it in Minnesota. You are and will always be our “Franchise”, our “Big Ticket”, our “MVP”.
And we will never, ne-ever forget you.
