There have been a lot of questions about how legit an MMA fighter Kimbo Slice is. While there's no question that he's a seriously tough guy, that does not an MMA fighter make. Plus he's been fighting a bunch of tomato cans to this point in time. UFC president Dana White has long said that if Kimbo was in UFC, he'd be crushed, repeatedly.

Well, it looks like White was right.

Tonight, after Kimbo's original opponent Ken Shamrock was injured during warmups, Kimbo got Seth Petruzelli as an alternate. Petruzelli is a mediocre light heavyweight in mediocre league, and yet he floored Slice in 14 seconds.

Basically what this means is that Kimbo's MMA career is over and his 15 minutes of fame are officially up. It also is likely the death knell for Elite XC, which has been hanging on by a thread - that thread being Kimbo.

Looks like it's back to backyard brawling for Slice at this point.

But Seth Petruzelli isn't Floyd Mayweather Jr. And Petruzelli had just as much preparation time as Kimbo did.

Anyone who uses the "Kimbo didn't have time to prepare" excuse knows nothing about MMA. This loss had nothing to do with preparation, lack of preparation, or anything else like that.

He got hit with an awkward right hand on the chin, and showed that he has a weak chin. It hasn't really been tested in the past. It's obvious that Kimbo is sloppy, old, and has a glass jaw. He showed today that he didn't even belong in the ring with any type of legitimate fighter. Petruzelli isn't an elite fighter. He wasn't even supposed to be in Kimbo's weight class for this card. He was supposed to fight in a light heavyweight fight, and he basically switched to a heavyweight opponent on a fwe hours' notice, and destroyed Kimbo.

Kimbo Slice is a joke, EliteXC is a joke, and anyone who thinks otherwise is probably a joke, as well.

i'd would have like to see the ref let it go a little longer... and see if he would have recovered... I thought it was called way to quick... you could almost call it a setup....

i would have loved to see kimbo fight shamrock, that would have been an awesome fight. but this finaly proves that kimbo is nothing but a glorified street fighter and this also shows that there is more to MMA than just throwing punches. these guys are the toughest people in the world.

Apparently Kimbo was seriously messed up. So as much as I would have liked to see it go longer as well, I think it was stopped at the right time. He actually tried to take down the ref after the fight was called he was so messed up. Here's a pic.

   That is an awful analogy.  Kimbo was hyped to be the next biggest and baddest heavyweight in MMA.  To get knocked out in 14 seconds shouldn't happen regardless of how long he had to prepare.  I understand losing a fight with little or no preperation is one thing, but not in 14 seconds, to a weak 1 legged jab.  Kimbo got his weak chin exposed, and now people are realizing that he is going to be nothing more then a glorified marketing tool.  It's a shame cause this story is ruining what was a pretty decent card of fights last night.

That whole fight was a joke. I expected all lot more from Kimbo and also the fight shouldn't  been called when he went down. Kimbo needs alot more training and more  fights to be consider a top fighter. I felt the Gina fight was more entertaining out of the whole show when she beat wana be Frodo Baggins look a like.

   Cyborg intimidated me quite a bit.  You will see Gina throw alot more kicks in that fight.  if she would have thrown more in rounds 1 and 2 I think she could have finished last night.

I was all ready to sit down and watch this fight, Kimbo gets in the ring and the ref does his pre-fight stuff and I get up to go get a beer and snack and come back and the pink hair guy is running around the ring like a crazy person. I missed it. I missed the fight.

Not to sound like an MMA hater but I am really glad this was free. I would irate if I payed 45 bucks for any big name MMA fight and it ended like that. That is part of the reason that I can't get into MMA, the fights can just end after a blink.

  It started at 400, and after everyone started betting on Seth, it got all the way down to 350 before settling at 375 I believe.
