It's not every day that you get the chance to take a pro athlete and recent gold medalist to school, but that's exactly what a 26-year-old warehouse manager named David Kalb did yesterday when he beat LeBron James in not just one game of H-O-R-S-E, but two games of H-O-R-S-E.
The two squared off Wednesday on an outdoor court in Venice Beach after Kalb won an online contest, “LeBron’s Trick Shot Challenge.” And from there, Kalb went to work.
He didn’t need to get that over-the-top creative to beat LeBron, but Kalb’s assortment of trick shots was clever enough to take the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar to the proverbial woodshed.
Kalb closed out the first game by swishing a shot from the baseline, catching the ball as it came through the net and converting a reverse layup.
“After I beat him, he’s like ‘best of three, right?’” Kalb said. “I could tell he was frustrated. After missing a couple of easy ones, he hit the ball in disgust.”

While snippets of the video have apparently been on SportsCenter, above is the complete version. I don't know what to say, other than that this is pretty damn impressive.
I just hope that when the martians invade Earth and threaten to enslave all of humanity unless one of us wins a game of H-O-R-S-E against them, Kalb is still around.
