Three-point shooting has continued to plague Team USA in international competition over the last four years. Fortunately, during these Olympic games, the defensive intensity has created plenty of easy buckets a little trouble in the first three victories.
This morning's match versus Spain figured to be a battle into the fourth quarter. Shooting only 29 percent from behind the arc in the first three games, Team USA ended this contest in the first half, hitting seven of their first 10 three-point attempts. As a whole, the Redeem Team shot 12-of-25 from long range (48%).
Lebron James led USA with 18 points and 8 assists, while Dwyane Wade continued his Olympics MVP performance with 16 points and a few more steals.
There's still one more pre-medal round tune-up against Dirk Nowitzki and the Germans, but it's safe to say Coach K has his team in great position for a gold medal. It's really enjoyable to watch these immensely talented players competiting at a top level and embracing international basketball.
Here's another great Dwyane Wade dunk off the assist from Lebron James.
