Navy has lost to Notre Dame 43 games in a row, the longest dominance of one team over another in the history of college football. Lou Holtz has played his role to ensure that number increases to 44. He chose to give the Midshipmen his weekly pep talk which portends defeat.
To Lou's credit, I actually understood the message and always love the swimmer anecdote of a friend who doesn't believe he can cross the river. Weird how that same incident has happened to several hundred thousand high school coaches across the country.
It IS all mental. Spartans, were you listening?
I applaud the Lou Holtz Pep Talk this week, but unfortunately won't be cheering when the Irish win on Saturday.
Come on Lou, you have picked Notre Dame to win every game this year and then what do you do? Give the pep talk to the team Notre Dame is going to play on Saturday, damn.
