I realize there are a number of bad teams in the NFL right now, but the worst looking team thus far has easily been the St. Louis Rams. Why? Well, because they're not exactly completely untalented. They have Marc Bulger and a good running back in Steven Jackson in the backfield. But it's more than apparent that the whole team has quit on head coach Scott Linehan. So what do you do in that scenario if you're Linehan?
Linehan is apparently now turning the keys over to 38-year-old Trent Green. I didn't even know he was still in the league, or for that matter, alive.
Remember, Green has sort of had, how do I put this politely, his brain scrambled multiple times during his career. Like with the Chiefs.
And with the Dolphins.
Man, just one of those hits would cause most guys to retire. Some NFL vets, including Merril Hoge, even begged Green to retire after he suffered that hit in Miami.
And considering Bulger was sacked 11 times in the Rams' first three games, Green may be unconscious by halftime on Sunday. On a 1 to 10 scale of bad ideas, this seems like a 14.
By the way, only a few days ago I thought this team couldn't go 0-16. I've since changed my mind. With an old, concussed QB at the helm and a totally unmotivated team, I see this team making a serious push for infamy.
