Great Scott!
Permit me to go outside our normal sports posts to bring you this ridiculously awesome news. I'm not sure how many of you saw Back To The Future II. I still remember the hoverboard and thinking man, when I'm like 13 I know we'll totally have those! Now I'm 27, and they've yet to show up. Get on it technology losers.
But while we don't have the hoverboard just yet, a version of Marty McFly's super hilarious Nike shoes from Back To The Future II are being released at 4pm today in Santa Monica, CA. There's actually been a campaign to get these ridiculously awesome sneaks on the market for years, and believe it or not, Nike patented the design back when the movie originally came out. Here's the actual original design spec.

The one unfortunate thing is that the McFly's won't have the awesome air-pressurized auto-lacing
mechanism. They're going by the name McFly Hyperdunk 2015's, part of Nike's Hyperdunk shoe family, which is hawked by Kobe Bryant. But fear not, the 2015 logo will still appear on the shoe's tongue as you can see to your right. So if you see Kobe appearing in an ad on a hoverboard sometime in the next year, you'll know which shoe he's endorsing.
I just hope someone figures out the air-pressurized auto-lacing mechanism and manages to get that on to some shoes. Because, let's be honest, that would absolutely rule.
I'll take 10 of them.
