After an easier than expected victory over Greece, Team USA can look forward to it's toughest test of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Like the United States, the Spanish National Basketball team currently sits at 3-0, thanks in large part to their very talented back court. Lakers star Pau Gasol holds down the front court, but Spain has a plethora of guards at their disposal. Jose Calderon of the Toronto Raptors leads the way, and has played very well during these games. In addition, Juan Carlos Navarro - formerly of the Grizzlies and now FC Barcelona - and Rudy Fernandez of the Trail Blazers get a fair share of playing time.
However, the most exciting player is a talent you're going to admire very soon: Ricky Rubio. The top european point guard prospect at age 17, could very well be a top 5 selection in one of the next two NBA Drafts. He's drawn comparisons to Pistol Pete Maravich, and it's not just because of his floppy hair and wiry nature. A wizard with the basketball, but he can also score as easily as he helps his teammates.
