See this man to your right here? He once beat Michael Jordan in a pickup basketball game. He also likely never got a date in high school. Anyway, his name is John Rogers and he's the CEO of some mutual fund, which means he's probably broke now. But anyway, there was a story that leaked in February of this year that Rogers had apparently beaten MJ in a game of one-on-one back in 2003 at Jordan's fantasy camp known as "Flight School."
Yes, this would be one of those super annoying fantasy camps where 45-year-old rich jackasses get the chance to live their dreams by shooting hoops with a pro athlete for the low, low cost of $50,000. God I hate capitalism sometimes.
Anyway, this rumor was continually brushed off time and time again because let's be honest, no one beats MJ in a one-on-one game. Especially not some rec-spec wearing doofus. Yet somehow video has finally emerged of the epic battle, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal. Anyway, it's pretty much what you'd expect. Jordan lazily tosses up jumpers and goes half-assed on defense, leading to Rogers winning.
As an added bonus, Damon Wayans dogs Jordan at the end for losing at his own camp, which appears to be taking place in a cleaned out hotel ballroom.
Anyway, the release of this video makes me think that the editor of the Journal may soon get a visit from Jordan's boys. And then wind up at the bottom of the Hudson River.
