Entourage is definitely a love it or hate it show. I'll alert you right now that I'm in the "hate it beyond belief" camp. Why anyone would care at all about the behind the scenes BS of the movie industry and the arrogant pricks that are a part of it is beyond me. But apart from that Ms. Lincoln.....
Anyway, my ranting of the show aside, Michael Phelps is a huge fan of it and made an appearance on last night's show that lasted all of, oh, one second. Which was probably a good thing, considering Phelps showed all the range of a rock during his Saturday Night Live hosting gig.
So how'd he wind up on the show? According to ETOnline:
Eight-medal Beijing Olympic swimming champ -- and big "Entourage" fan -- Michael Phelps recently stumbled upon the set of HBO's hit series while it was filming in Midtown Manhattan. Seizing a great opportunity, series producer Doug Ellin immediately wrote the star athlete into the show with a cameo opposite the show's Kevin Connolly.
Ok, that isn't so bad. At least he won't be back on the show again, right?
Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps has been offered a recurring role on HBO's hit "Entourage" after he impressed the cast and crew with a recent cameo appearance.

Actor Jeremy Piven says, "I could see him coming back as one of the boys. I can see (my character) Ari being very aggressive in recruiting him to represent him and also stopping at nothing to poach him from another client. That's what Ari would do."

You've got to be kidding me. As the Sporting Blog so kindly puts it, "Let me tell you the only way this story is funny. Ari recruits Phelps, discovers he can't act, and completely disses him. I'm not even sure that's funny, actually."
No it's not, but I'd probably watch the show for once just to see it.
