UPDATE: NBC took down the original full YouTube video, so here's another video that features the final two and half legs of the relay.

Luckily we finally have the video. It's the 4x100 freestyle relay with Michael Phelps leading it off and my new favorite American - Jason Lezak - sticking it to the French on the stretch run. Yes, that would be the French who said they would "smash" the Americans. Smash must be French for "surrender to."

As was noted earlier, Lezak had the fastest relay split time EVER. And you know what, that's exactly what he needed to do to win gold for the US, and he did it. If Lezak ever has to buy himself a beer in any bar in America after Sunday night (our time, not his), something is wrong with this country. That was an epic performance by Lezak.

Even better, it keeps Phelps' 8 gold medal quest alive and well. Sweet.

4	Part of what made that race so awesome were the NBC announcers doing such a fantastic job on the play by play and analysis, especially in the last couple of meters. That said, I could watch that video clip all day long. Like Brett said, THAT is what the Olympics are all about

2	I watched this last night on primetime and now I've watched it twice on here....I can't get enough...it was unbelievable!!!! Especially when, before the race, one of the commentators kept saying he's been crunching the numbers again and again and the French always come out ahead of the Americans!!! LOL USA, USA, USA!!!!

This was a sweet victory for so many reasons. Not only did it keep alive Phelp's quest for a new record of 8 gold medals in this Olympics, it also gave USA the gold in the 4x100 relay for the first time since the 1996 games. And to have done it amongst all the rhetoric that Brenard was spewing, made it even more gratifying. The French anchor must have been out of air from all his prophecies and it is fitting that it was he who got "smashed" by Lezak in the last stroke at the wall.. Karma baby.....

0	When I heard of what the French said before the match I was thinking dont count your eggs before they hatch. Then the race was on and when it ended on that amazing note and the USA won the match, I was thinking....1...2.....3....4.....whoops were is the 5th one.
