Towards the end of regulation of the LA Kings and Dallas Stars on Tuesday, which ended in a tie at 2, Mike Ribeiro of the Stars was hammered into the boards head first by the Kings' Brown, resulting in a bloodied Ribeiro.
The shootout ensued with the Kings' Rookie Wayne Simmonds scoring first. Then Mike Ribeiro came on the ice, a bit unexpected after his injury, and showed off a seriously cool move to score a goal! At first, it appeared he lost control of the puck, however after the replay, it shows that he had complete control of the puck, sliding it between his legs and then one handedly getting it past the Kings' Goalie, Erik Ersberg, into the net! As he skated off the ice, he did the "shhhhhhhhhhh" hand motion. This is one of the sweetest shootout goals I've seen! Usually when the players try to get fancy, they lose control and often do not get the goal. Not the case for Ribeiro today!
However, even after this sweet shootout goal, the Kings' Alexander Frolov got the puck past Stars goalie Marty Turco, to end the game with a victory for the LA Kings.
Funny how he came back from such a "bloody" injury. What was also funny was the fact that right after the hit the Kings had control of the puck and no penalty was called, then Morrow starts a fight with Brown and a major boarding penalty on Brown was made.
It was a nice goal. I posted it in the video section last night.
