A few non-Patriots/Colts thoughts and reactions after Sunday's NFL week 10 action ...
LaDainian Tomlinson can NOT get 16 carries. Adrian Peterson stole the show yesterday in Minneapolis because his coach was committed to running the football and giving him the necessary touches to do so. I understand the Vikings are one of the better run defenses in the NFL, but this is LT we're talking about. Down 7? Still give him the ball. Down 14? Still give the ball. There's a consistent theme in each of the Chargers losses and it all has to do with Norv Turner getting too cute. I don't blame Tomlinson for writing this letter.
Does *gasp* Matt Millen deserve credit? From the headlines I never thought I'd see file, Michael Rosenberg from the Detroit Free Press says 'Matt Millen for President.' Whatever the cause, the Lions are actually very good. Defense keeps making the necessary plays and with a straight face I can start to use Lions and playoffs in the same sentence.
Eagles look like a team with focused leadership. Philly has the talent, but they're just not in it mentally and that's due to Andy Reid. He needs to step down for the good of his team and let Morningwheg take the reigns for the rest of this season. Return a focus to the details and eliminate the distractions. The Jason Whitten play above summed it up best. Neither player went for the tackle.
Saints will win out.If you're able to forget about the fluke start, New Orleans now belongs in the discussion among best NFC teams. It's true. Take a look at the schedule the rest of the way. If there's a loss it's the result of crappy weather in Chicago during Week 17. Am I to believe the Browns are actually good? I'm not ready to do it yet, but I'm close. Without any recent success you have to give Romeo Crennel all the credit for teaching the team how to win.
