New York Knicks Are Watchable (!), Win Opener 120-115 Over Miami Heat
Shooting In Seven Seconds Or Less Is No Problem For This Group

OK, fine. So I'm mostly putting this highlight up because of Gus Johnson (hell yes!), but seriously, the New York Knicks are watchable again.

Thanks to some NBA League Pass Free Preview goodness, I was having a field day last night scrolling through all the games and truth be told, I found myself watching the Knicks vs Heat more than any other.

Not that the Knicks weren't watchable before, but that was more as comedic relief than entertaining basketball. I wouldn't call last night 'great basketball' by any means, but New York played well and fully embraces Mike D'Antoni's offensive strategy.

Not that Jamal Crawford and Zach Randolph hadn't already been going for the shoot in seven seconds or less approach before D'Antoni arrived, but now they're doing so in much more of a team role. Crawford flung 19 shots -- just the beginning, my friends -- but landed 9 in leading the Knicks with 29 points. Randolph got his own looks, as did Wilson Chandler, who threw down this solid put-back over four Miami Heat.

Don't laugh, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Chandler compete for 6th man of the year, if he doesn't end up starting soon.

Best of all, Mike D'Antoni didn't even bother to play Stephon Marbury which was reason 1A that the Knicks were watchable again.

The 4th quarter made me sick. The Knicks lost a ton of games over the last few years just like that and NOT finishing teams when they should.

Paul Westhead still thinks that it is way too slow.
