Florida Gators football coach Urban Meyer's daughter will play division 1 college volleyball. However, it won't be at her father's school, or even in the SEC at all. Nicki Meyer will become a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket, and play volleyball there in Atlanta.
Coach Meyer was very supportive of the decision, and met with Ga Tech coach Bond Shymansky prior to his daughter signing with the school.Meyer led her high school team to a state championship in 2007 as a libero. This year, they went 22-8 and lost in the regional finals.
Nicki's original ideas of going to college in Ohio or Utah were nixed when she realized how far away she would be from her family. Her relationship with Coach Meyer has helped her develop as a person and as a player, or something like that.
