Oakland A's Fan Tased at Coliseum
Tase Me Out to the Ballgame, Tase Me Out With the Crowd
READ MORE:

Here's a lesson to all you A's fans thinking of attending a game at the coliseum: Don't get drunk, move down to the nice seats and start bellowing. You will get tased. For those of you weary of online tasing videos, there is more to see here than a fat guy convulsing. Check out the summary from YouTube:

1:05 - a belligerent fan gets tased by Oakland Police.
1:25 - another fan accidentally gets pushed down the stairs in the background.
1:42 - a foul ball lands in the vicinity.

That's a lot of action for one tasing video. The summary also adds that before the video started recording, the fan was drinking vodka nips, harassing other fans and, when coliseum security initially approached him, started using racial epithets. I guess this is the quality of fan you attract when you are always playing for next year.

Hooray, Moneyball!

Hooray, Beer (I mean vodka nips)!

It's also a lot easier to stick out like a sore thumb (or belligerently loud fat guy) when you are 1 in 12,000 people.

I love how public opinion shifted... the crowd is encouraging the cops to get the guy, and then when they taze him, the same people are offended.  I'm reminded not to thumb my nose at the guy with the electric current.

I wonder.......Will that drunk be singing "Margaritaville" or "100 bottles of beer on the wall" in the back of a cop car on the way to jail?

This guy was being a complete jerk, first to other fans around him and then the cops. He got exactly what he had coming to him. Haul losers like that out of the park so those who are truly there because they love baseball can enjoy the game.

No one is ever in the upper deck anymore as the A's have tarped it off and no longer sell tickets up there.  This year, they opened up two sections in the 3rd deck behind home plate as the "all you can eat" section.  For one price, those in that section get to eat as many dogs, pretzels, etc they want.

But they don't get to drink All the beer they want up there.lol....we sat up in those cheap seats a few years back-(before it was tarped off)...after the 7th inning we went down to the first base side(by the bullpen)-from the upper deck..About 30 other people had the same idea.someone from security came over and YELLED said whoever came down here needs to stand up NOW and show us your ticket for this section,if you don;t have a ticket for this section you will be ARRESTED....All of us at that time just got up and left the ballpark-we couldn;t believe it!!! after the 7th inning if those seats are still vacant the people who had those tickets are not gonna go to the ballpark to Just watch the LASAT TWO innings....they sure were badge heavy....

Some places are just too nazi-ish when it comes to that.

I had a business trip to Denver about a decade ago.  The final night I was there I bought a ticket to a game at Coors Field.  Later, I decided to see about getting the wife (at the time) to tag along.  She would be interested in the game too.  So on the day of the game, I went to the box office and asked if I could turn the ticket in and get two together in the same section.  It was field level down the line, but the Rox sucked and weren't drawing so there were plenty of seats.  They told me they did not have 2 together in that price range but found two in a much lower price range.  I thought, fine.  But they wouldn't refund the price difference of my original ticket!  So we got two apart in the same section.  The wife's seat was three rows back of me.  When we got there, the seat next to me was empty so we used it.  About three innings in, the usher wanted to see our tickets.  No prob.  We showed them.  He MADE her move back 3 rows to her seat.  She did.  But as soon as he left she moved back.  Two innings later, same guy came down and now threatened to kick us both out if she moved again.  How about that?  Same price range.  Same seat.  And that jerk usher wouldn't let her move.  There were probably 12,000 people there tops.  Lots of empty seats in our section.

I hear ya ml31, I went to two A's games when my brother and his wife lived in Palo Alto, cal. My brother and my sister in-law adopted the A's because Bonds was with the Ginats and they usually filled pac bell- new park then.I'm a Huge raiders fan(live in houston-afc city) but also became a 49ers fancrazy i know.So on sunday i go to a home 49ers game, monday night we are at the A's game-both time they were playing the Angels-last reg season homestand. We stopped by Jack to get our food for the A's game.I never heard where you could bring food into a game-PRETTY cool...So we get our seats in the upper deck-TONS of empty seats....1st base side.....so we sat there till the 7th inning-me Wearing my raiders jacket-the wind was blowing STRONG the whole game-it was like a freezer up there-the ICE BOX....so we saw all these empty seats A's 1st base side next to the bullpen-we were FREEZIN our shirt hairs off-All these EMPTY seats-after the 7th inning stretch...some security guards or oakland pd lady sees about 30 people moving into all the empty seats....she was MAD as hell....she gets another security guard and YELLS over the bullhorn-all of you people who just came down heer STAND UP and show us your tickets-we are gonna check each and EVERY one of you-if your ticket is NOT in this Section you will be ARRESTED"....we said F...this-got up and Left...never went to another A's game...well if these law enforcement types had been sitting in the upper deck FREEZING their A@@ES off for 2 hours they probably would have done the same thing.....i hear the games at candlestick are the same way..night or day!!!The A's are 18 games out and all but two sections are closed(upper deck)-HORRIBLE PR movie-trying to make bucks instead of taking a little losss but introducing NEWER younger fans to the game (like they did with us when we were kids going with family).....
