I don't know all that much about soccer, but I do know that this is a ridiculously impressive goal. Usually when guys try to score from this far out, they miss, or it's an easy save for the goalie... if it even gets that far.
Nicely done, Oscar.

Yeah, just like how Javier Aguirre raised his foot to the mid section of Ricardo Phillips and earned himself a red card.

I can see why, since the US has flat out owned Mexico lately, even going back to the US beating Mexico in the knockout round of World Cup 2002. And now the US is the power in CONCACAF, 2 time defending Gold Cup champs and is going to the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup while Mexico is struggling to even get into position to qualify for World Cup 2010.
I'd like to see a US/Mexico match up in the Gold Cup next month. And Mexico is getting the US in Stadium Azteca in August, so at least the Mexican side will have a good shot to tie or possibily win that game.

Yes, it was brilliant for El Tri. If they had lost that game, then they'd have virtually no chance to qualify for WC 2010. Now it really makes their next game in August against the US a chance for them to get right back in the mix.
Of course, Gold Cup will come up in July so hopefully we'll get to see a US/Mexico match before August.

Mexico won the game 2-1, but could have easily won by more, especially playing at el Estadio Azteca. The Club America defender scored a sensational goal, giving Mexico the much needed win, in their rally to WC 2010 in South Africa. Not only was this a goal to remember, but it gave 'El Tri' the all important 3 points.

Yeah, too bad they won.
