Our Long National Nightmare Is Over: Terrelle Pryor Is Going To Ohio State
READ MORE:

If you're one of those people that gets geeked up based on the decisions made by 17 and 18-year-old boys you belong in jail then today is your day. Super recruit Terrelle Pryor has decided to grace Ohio State with his presence next year.

Which of course leads to the inevitable joke of: How many national championship will he manage to lose during his time there?

Frankly, I'm just glad this is over. Pryor has already been turned into an action figure, been coveted by every coach in America, and had a golden statue made of himself in Jeannette, Pennsylvania [Note: one of those three may not be true...yet].

Anyway, I wish Pryor the best, but he may be the most hyped college football recruit ever. Let's hope no one says he's going to win four Heismans, like Ron Powlus. That didn't work out so well for Powlus, to say the least.

All I can say is, if the video from his visit to Ohio State is any indication, this kid is going to have a massive weight on his shoulders.

Let's hope this is the last ink this kid gets until he actually accomplishes something. I see Maurice Clarett happening all over again. Hope he proves me wrong.

May the Maurice Clarett comparisons come more than ever now.

1) Michigan is screwed

2) I hope he isn't another Maurice Clarett.

3) If he's as good as advertised, tOSU is going to be awfully good.

He is going to the school with an offense that is not suited for him, but good luck to him.  OSU's current running back's are just rolling their eyes right now.  Oh well, let's see how quickly he starts playing and see if he can actually lead OSU over an SEC team in the big game.

The good news here and why I'll still root for him to succeed it point #1 you made.

Wolverines will go 6-6 this year. Mark it down.

this kid already looks like he is going to have tons of disciplinary problems, a few days back he and a few teammates started a fight after a playoff basketball game. He will be your typical primadonna teen/college athlete...will get whatever he wants b/c he brings the school tons of money. he will be suspended and kicked off the team by his 3rd year...promise!

I know he had fun stringing everyone along for the ride that was his recruiting process, but, IMO, he is just setting himself up for a big disappointment.

You better have thick skin Terrelle.  Because every game you play that is below par not great, the media is gonna eat you alive.  Not to mention Michigan fans.

This guy is a freak at the QB position!!!
6-6
230 lbs
runs a sub 4.3!
Ohio State has never seen anything like this at QB.  Tressel is going to be like a kid in a candy store planning plays and molding this young man.
UM loses again!  PS - it's been 1579 days since M*ch*gan beat Ohio State in Football

Sad.

It is obvious you know nothing about this rivalry.
It is also obvious you don't know about living through the John Cooper era!
The days are always posted on the Columbus Dispatch Sports page.

It's a pretty big stretch to say that I know nothing of the rivalry -- I am a college football fan, grew up in Big Ten country, and understand the rivalry just fine.

And I know how big of a shame it must be that I don't go around the United States and look through newspapers in major cities to know the random additions/quirks each of them have.

I now at least have a lifelong goal to achieve, thanks.

Great rivalry and always has been.  But lets bring OSU back down to reality.  Pryor may have a great impact for them and hopefully give them that extra edge to put them over the top.  With that being said, OSU has been humiliated by a conference that they have yet to post a win against, but which Michigan holds a pretty impressive winning record on; 19-5-1 all time.

Pryor will no doubt have to live up to the hype in order to beat Michigan, play a stronger non-conference schedule, beat his doubters and most of all win the national title.  What would really shut everyone up is if all of the above is done but OSU defeats an SEC team convincingly in the National Title game.   If it doesn't happen, OSU remains a big fish in a small pond.

Why is everyone pretending that another Maurice Clarett is a bad thing? Sure he didn't last long, and sure he's the but of a lot of jokes right now... but he DID carry the Buckeyes to a National Championship... which is more than they can say about poster boys Troy Smith, Vernon Gholston, AJ Hawk, Ted Ginn, Todd Boeckman, James Laurinaitis, etc.

Why would it be bad?

To you, does a National Championship in a freshman year make up for the failed challenge of the 3-years of college before entering the NFL ruling? Continued arguments with coaching to where he wouldn't even be wanted anywhere anymore? A crappy combine and later rounds to be 'saved' by a Denver Broncos team that used him for a few games? An armed robbery on New Years? A car chase a few months later with that little fact of - "Officers used Mace to subdue Clarett after a stun gun was ineffective because the former Fiesta Bowl star was wearing a bullet-resistant vest".

Hey, if you like just staring at a nice little trophy case in the hallway, then I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem.

I couldn't imagine why other people wouldn't want their favorite young athletes to turn out that way though....

Boeckman and Laurinaitis both could still win it, not that they will, but you can't say that they haven't before their collegiate career is over

My main point is that as far as tOSU is concerned, Clarett did a lot more for their program than anyone else in recent history. He was the driving force behind their only National Championship in the past 38 years. Regardless of whatever personal accomplishments we've seen from Smith, Ginn, and even the great Archie Griffin...Clarett is the only one who brought them to the promised land. And I'm pretty sure that Tressel and the powers-that-be at Ohio State would much rather have another championship from a guy who screws up his life after his freshman year than a guy who plays 4 years of excellent football and then proceeds to dominate in the NFL, but doesn't come out with a National Championship.
