Philly Finally Gets Their Football Championship, Sort Of

Philadelphia finally has itself a championship, but I doubt this takes any pressure off the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers. The Jon Bon Jovi and Ron Jaworski owned Philly Soul won Arena Bowl XXII Sunday with a 58-56 win over the San Jose Sabercats.

It almost didn't happen in classic, heart-wrenching blown lead fashion.

Up 17 points with 39 seconds remaining, the Soul gave up two touchdowns and an onside kick to turn the ongoing celebration into a silent New Orleans Arena. The Soul recovered the final desperation onside attempt to give Philadelphia it's first football championship since 1960. Kind of.

It's not even the main story of the Daily News website this morning.

As big of a football fan as I consider myself, I can't for the life of me get into Arena League. The highlights for me were laughing at Jon Bon Jovi and company living through this all.
