Rarely, if ever, do I doubt the knowledge dropped by handsome John Clayton but last Sunday I had to doubt check a fact he shared on ESPN Radio.
"Fred Taylor has NEVER made the Pro Bowl."
No way could I accept that as truth. He's one of the better running backs in the league throughout his career, ranking 18th all-time. Surely, he made the trip to Honolulu once.
Nope. 10 seasons, 10,604 yards, 60 TD and Pro Bowl to speak of.
So what does a guy do in this situation? Start voting for himself as much as possible.
"Why not vote for yourself? Ten extra votes. This is Florida," Taylor said, joking about the contentious 2000 presidential election. "I won't be disappointed. I understand I made a late push, but at the same time, I feel like I'm Pro Bowl -caliber, Pro Bowl-quality."Fred is also calling for your help, so let's get it done.
"I would like for everyone on the planet, on the face of the Earth to vote for me," Taylor said. "But it's not up to me. Whatever happens, happens," said Taylor. "They've got to tally up the votes, and however it comes out, I've got to live with it. I've always felt like I'm Pro Bowl-quality, so everything else doesn't matter."Fred Taylor Knows What It Takes To Make The Pro Bowl [Lion in Oil]
