I once lived in Boston for a brief time period. So I've seen Red Sox Nation up close and personal. Sometimes it's great, like when I watched Big Papi hit a game winning three-run home run against the Rangers in person. But other times, by which I mean most of the time, it's stupid beyond belief.Case in point comes from multiple segments of the Nation today. First, courtesy of SPORTSbyBROOKS, is the heartwarming tale of an ass beating given by Red Sox fans to a Yankee fan.
A group of men — some with Irish accents — beat up a 23-year-old Cambridge man and sent him to the hospital after they spotted him sporting a Yankees baseball cap.
The mob of Red Sox fans allegedly threw the victim to the ground and repeatedly kicked him.

If that isn't enough to give the Nation a black eye, than maybe this will. Yesterday a Red Sox scout was arrested for flogging the dolphin in front of two teenage girls down in Florida. He's 39, the girls were younger than 16. Yikes.
Also somewhat strange, it took police and a U.S. Marshals task force to arrest him. He must have had a weapon in hand.
Last but not least was the video that leaked out yesterday of the Red Sox dancing at a charity event. There we learned Dustin Pedroia is fat. This should provide some good fodder for opponents.
Needless to say, it hasn't been such a great week for the Nation.
