Yes, last night's Pens/Wings game was super exciting. But it was also super painful, at least for Ryan Malone. Malone took a puck straight to the cheek and went down in a heap, as you can see in the video above.

But because he's a hockey player, and made of indestructible high grade steel alloy, he eventually came back into the game and actually played well.

Sergei Gonchar also roughed himself up when he crashed into the boards at full speed. He of course returned as well.

I assume the Pens will use both Malone and Gonchar's grit and determination to push the team towards trying to come back and win this series, but personally, I'm more interested in testing the limits of hockey player indestructibility. I'm fully convinced I could drop a piano on guys like Malone and they'd be back playing again by the second period.

Someone said something to me a couple of weeks ago to the effect of "hockey players get all the girls...I wonder why". This is why. MMA be damned, girls like tough guys...and it doesn't get much tougher than a puck in the face or a skate blade to the neck.

(ok that's all just speculation, but you get the gist.)
