Sage Rosenfels Sucks
10/5/08
Because Matt Schaub got floored by a stomach virus on Saturday night, Sage Rosenfels got the call today against the Indianapolis Colts. And believe it or not, he was pretty good, that is until the final four minutes.
The Texans were beating the Colts 27-17 with less than four minutes left in the fourth quarter today, and all they had to do was run time off the clock. But on a third-and-8, Sage decided he was suddenly Randall Cunningham, and tried to run for a first down. Rather than slide, he jumped up in the air and got literally destroyed. He also fumbled, and it was returned for a TD by Indy.
Once Houston for the ball back, Sage fumbled AGAIN, the Colts recovered it, drove down and scored again to go up 31-27.
Then, with a chance to drive Houston down the field to try and win back the game he had just lost for them, Rosenfels threw a pick.
That may the worst performance by a quarterback in the final 4 minutes of a game ever.
Meanwhile, Indy is 2-2, but could easily be 1-3. Needless to say, the bizarre year in the NFL continues unabated.
