Sergio Escudero Flops After Being Hit By A Linesman's Flag
Flopping In Soccer? We All Know It Exists, But We May Not Have Realized How Bad It Really Is.

One of the things I hate the most about Soccer is the constant flopping. Just when you think it's a good game, someone gets nudged, or brushes up against another player, and then he goes flailing to the ground, as if he had been hit with a right hook from Rampage Jackson.

This one takes it to a new level, though. Sergio Escudero almost got hit with a linesman's flag, but decided to take full advantage of it, and dropped like a rock. A rock that was in tremendous pain, after being beaten mercilessly, that is.

I really don't even know what he was trying to do. Get the linesman a yellow card? Seriously... what was the point of this flop? I'm certainly no soccer afficianado, but even I know that you can't draw a penalty on one of the officials. It just doesn't work that way.

Then again, it was probably just reflexes, since soccer players do this literally ALL THE FREAKING TIME. Here's some additional proof, in the form of an awesome video of phantom flops.

This is funny stuff. One of the 8 millions reason soccer will never catch on in the US of A.

Hey....that flag came in high and led with his cleats. He was just lucky he didn't lose an eye or something.

What do you expect when the players attend a clinic held by Manu Ginobli in the offseason?  I made that up, but still

Flops aren't only in Soccer, they are in all the major sports.  I want to know what they call it when they foul them on purpose, a Sack-a-Jack?

It's hard to realize something that occurs in a sport that so few people (American media) care about...

But the Europeans do have the art of flopping nearly perfected, which makes their NBA ones so easy to point out.

It's assholes like him that ruin a great sport. Floppers and divers should receive multi-game suspensions, and maybe, once the South American and Portuguese leagues have to cancel games due to not having enough eligible players, the message will get through.

Either that or every diver has to face up with Vinnie Jones

Now the question is - did the a$$holes ruin the sport.....or did the sport create the a$$holes ??

Man......next we'll debate the chicken or the egg !!    Well, maybe after drinking w/ Mooser at Mardi Gras for 48 straight hours at least !!!
