Now that we can officially forget about the Houston Rockets, although I thank them for an entertaining run, it's time to discuss those teams who still have a chance to win the NBA Finals.
Among those are still the Phoenix Suns. Yes, they're still around. Unfortunately they didn't adjust to Shaquille O'Neal on Day 1 which is what everyone wanted to see, but they've adapted and won 5 straight. This morning Phoenix is 1 game out of first place overall in the West.
Maybe I'm overreacting a bit to a win over 10th place Portland, but this showed me why the Suns acquired Shaq. He gives them some fight. Steve Nash and Co. have been pushed around lately come playoff time and O'Neal doesn't tolerate that ... particularly from Joel Przybilla.
What followed was the sequence at the top. Game over. I don't know if I'm alone here, but I really like the way the Suns have looked in the last five games and believe they'll finish with the #1 overall seed out West.
Hey Przybilla next time if you want to stop Shaq do it the Rock Ridge way. You know maybe trick him into diving for Spanish doubloons or send him a candy gram. You see talking trash, shoving or even shooting Shaq won't work, it will only make him upset.
#1 overall seed? Doubtful. Props to the Suns for winning 5 in a row, but the Suns have struggled against the Western Elite all year and there's still no reason to believe that will change.
