South Carolina Buzzer Beater Win Over No. 24 Florida

For a Wednesday night, college basketball seemed to have some of the biggest upsets of this still early season. Not only did Northwestern defeat the #7 Michigan St. Fighting Izzo's earlier, #1 Wake Forest, perhaps looking ahead to their next battle against #2 Duke, were upset by 5-loss Virginia Tech at home. The most entertaining upset, however, came tonight in South Carolina, as the Gamecocks defeated #24 Florida Gators on a last second layup by Zam Fredrick as time expired.

With the Gators leading 69-67 with about 5 seconds left, Fredrick was on the line with a chance to tie it up. As he sinks the first one to cut it down to one, Zam misses the second. Hearts were sunk all around the arena, but there were still another 3.3 seconds left, and with Chandler Parsons shooting a one and one after an instant foul, he misses the first free throw.

"I just kept believing we were going to get another shot to win." Fredrick said, and they did.

Mike Holmes grabs the rebound, he turns around and does his best Kurt Warner impression, and finds Zam Fredrick in stride who was running up the court past the Florida defense.
