South Florida Bulls Beat Kansas Jayhawks On Maikon Bonani Last Second Field Goal

Well That Was A Great Way To Kick Off The Weekend

Well that was a hell of a way to start the weekend. A back and forth high scoring game with certain overtime in it's future took a big turn on a Todd Reesing overthrown pass that landed in the hands of Bulls safety Nate Allen, and he returned it 40 yards the other way and back into field goal range for South Florida.

That's when the freshman Maikon Bonani got a chance to hit his third field and become a hero. Bonani drilled this 43 yard field goal and time expiring just barely bending inside the right goal post and the party was on.

Kansas looked to be turning this into a blowout in the first half, taking a quick 20-3 lead but the Jayhawks couldn't establish any resemblence of a running attack and the Bulls came back.

Matt Grothe passed for 338 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was this highly debatable TD pass to Taurus Johnson which was originally called incomplete on the field, but reversed upon replay. Close.

In total, Grothe and Reesing passed for 711 yards in a game totally roughly 900 yards in total offense. Let's hope we see a little more of this throughout the day, although the weather may not comply.

Great win for the Bulls which they had to have at home to maintain respectability for themselves and the Big East.
