About Me:
I get goosebumps for exciting victories and tears for championship defeat (even if it's not my team). I thrive on football and hockey, but I'll watch almost any sport - and give me enough time, I'll be obsessed. I cheer for the underdog if I don't have a set team preference for a specific game - and I'm thrilled when the Cinderella team wins it all (as long as it's not against my team!) Pro-retirement ceremonies are one of the very few things that can make me cry but I always watch them anyway. I LOVE road trips and anything outdoorsy - but my idea of *A* perfect day is spent curled up in an overstuffed chair with sunflower seeds and a drink, the Q on the laptop, the NFL on from morning through afternoon and the NHL in the evening on a big screen TV. Color me happy...but call me lazy.

Lord Stanley in the Joe Tonight - Will There Be a Hoist?
by Jess
6/2/08

This is the time of year when I go in search of crazy stories about the adventures of Lord Stanley and all who have claimed him. It's the time of year that the fans, media, and even non-fans of hockey start to personify a piece of metal.

My favorites are the mishaps; like when the Cup was left behind in Vancouver at the airport because of weight limits as keepers waited to see it come through with their baggage in Tampa Bay. Or when it was kicked across a frozen canal and left behind as its winners continued their party elsewhere.

Tonight could very well be the night we see the Cup hoisted and kissed in the Joe Louis Arena. Tonight could be the night that Gary Bettman brings presents and is actually liked by the players and fans alike.

OK maybe not - then how 'bout Cup Keeper, Mike Bolt? Here he is with a few interesting facts about the Cup:

The Penguins came on strong in Game Three, but they're going to have to play with more heart than they did in Game Four tonight or this series isn't going to be near as long as most of us had thought hoped. Another Osgood distraction by Kristen Bell couldn't hurt either - I find it more than coincidence that her little crush admission came out the same night as the Pens only win. Either way, I just hope it's a good game.

The action starts at 8:00ET again on NBC. Who's watching?

Yep.  I was hoping for a longer series.  But I predicted Wings in 5 in the polls.
