Send it in, TWill Most fans associate low scoring games to crappy Big Ten teams, but it turns out other conferences occasionally struggle to put the ball through the hoops. Syracuse and Louisville spent the first half comparing missed threes, and then Rick Pitino gaves Terrence Williams a pep talk. The above nasty dunk was the result. Anytime you get a good, from the gut, Send it in! from Bill Raftery you're doing something right. A couple days after shooting lights out at home against Georgetown, 'Cuse was 16-for-55 from the field. The Orange were also outrebounded 53-34, which has always been my issue with the zone defense. Pitino's Cardinals were hardly impressive last night, but they're looking capable of a good run in March if the cards fall right. Louisville 61, Syracuse 50. Your thoughts on L'ville?
Josh Duncan will not miss No, really, he's not missing a thing. Duncan scored 23 points on 8-8 shooting from the field, and 4-4 from the line. That's impressive enough, but it's actually the second straight game that he hasn't missed. Last week against Charlotte he was 7-7.Xavier 81, Rhode Island 77.
Texas-sized blowout The story for the Longhorns is pretty simple, if D.J. Augustin is hitting his shots they're not going to lose. Mired in a bad slump, D.J. hardly missed which meant the Aggies didn't have a chance. Texas 77, Texas A&M 50.
Tonight's Big Game: #15 Purdue at #14 Indiana. It all depends if D.J. White plays. If so, Hoosiers win. If not, Boilers basically wrap up the Big Ten.
I've been saying it all season... Xavier is legit! They have an outside shot at a #2 see now and I really believe they have a final four run in their future. They have senior leadership, depth (6 guys averaging double figures) and one of the better PG's in the nation. That is a recipe for success in March. All are welcome on the Muskie bandwagon.

I hadn't watched X in a while, but I did tune in last night. They're definitely good, but I'm still not sure how far I like them in March. Its hard to compare a game against Rhode Island to a 2nd Round game against, say Washington State. Someone who can match their tough defense and be just as physical on defense.
I've been accused of homering so many times early in the season, especially when injuries plagued Louisville and it looked like nothing spectacular would come from their season. Even though the win over 'Cuse was not an offensive show to write home about, the Cards have proved that they can put together big shots, big runs, and big wins when it counts. Last year, this young team battled Texas A & M and unfortunately came up short in an emotional and close loss. Coming down the stretch, I think these guys remember how much it hurt to play so hard, to score a record 30 plus points (Edgar Sosa) as a freshman head to head against Acie Law, and still come up short. And I think they are starting to get a little hungry as that time of the year approaches. Don't count us out because you may regret it if you do.
