Wow! That Almost Made Me Forget How Bad China Is
8/9/08

China may be one of the most oppressive countries in all of the world but they sure as hell know how to do a torch lighting with some style.

I have never been a big Opening Ceremonies guy but I did turn it on around the end when they lit the torch, and I am really glad that I did.

I'm sure I wasn't the only one was wondering why Li Ning was attatched to wires and then bam, he is airborn . Then he just takes off and runs a lap around the entire stadium. So if you missed on Friday night, try to ignore the German announcer on the video here and see how amazing it really was.

That was the coolest torch lighting ever and you know the people in charge of the London Olympics in 2012 are starting right now trying to figure out a way to top that, but unless they do something insane, this was the greatest torch lighting EVAR.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with the waterboarding rack for having posted this video.

That was awesome to see him flying around the stadium like that, and the inventors of fireworks sure put one hell of a finish together to light the cauldron.
