For those of you hockey fans out there, you may be familiar with Orland Kurtenblog. It's a hockey blog written by Jason Brough and Mike Halford and it’s mostly about the Vancouver Canucks. But for what seems like ages, they've been working on trying to determine the greatest hit in NHL history.
Well, today we finally have our answer.
The winner was Scott Stevens on Slava Kozlov in the '95 Playoffs with this unreal hit.
Frankly, I'm a little disappointed. By the way, here was the runner-up, Brian Campbell on RJ Umberger, which in my mind was actually a bigger hit.
But in all honesty, I think we saw the most vicious hit ever in the NHL this year. And it wasn't even by a player, but instead by the boards. I mean, this hit Ryan Smyth took is on par with the worst football hits I've ever seen.
