The Red Sox Yankees Fan Brawl From Last Week Was A Little More Intense Than I Realized
If you missed it last week, there was a fan fight when the the Red Sox played at Yankee Stadium. Given the always respectful fan bases of both teams, I realize that's truly shocking.

But apparently the fight was more than just your par-for-the-course foul mouthed banter and pushing and shoving between rival fans. It got slightly worse than that. Courtesy of Busted Coverage, here's the rather scary video of a guy getting flipped over a railing.

And for the coup de grâce, here's a pic of a svelte Yankees fan getting in on the action.

Stay classy, Red Sox and Yankees fans.

The fight was not over the Red Sox/Yankees. The gentlemen in the Red Sox gear made the mistake of doing the line from Billy Madison an grabbed the "svelte" gentleman's stomach and said, "I think it going to be a soccer player." To which the Yankee fans replied, "Really, Billy Madison, come on Little Nickey was Sandler's best film.." and as he tried to finish that sentence all hell broke loose. That or they were both drunk and a-holes, take your pick.

This would only happen in New York, Boston and Chicago...no one else cares enough about baseball to take it that seriously...especially among the a-hole sect.

Someone should tell those dudes to lighten up... Seriously! some one tell that fat dude to lighten up! :)

Your kidding right? That happens in almost every city where the team matters. I guess you've never been to Philadelphia? Or LA?

This blog is written with the typical Yankees/Red Sox bias that I've come to so despise. Especially on this site. You honestly think that that kind of thing ONLY happens at Yankee-Red Sox games? Your a total fool if you believe that.

I've been to quite a few parks (west coast, mid west, east coast, toronto) and I never seen a fight like that...though I've seen quite a few between redsox/yankee fans.

Who are the philly fans fighting with? Kinda of a lost cause when they will be out of the race by memorial day weekend :)

Good point on the Phillies.

So you've been to ONE game at a few parks around the country. What does that prove? And where are all these fights at Yankee Red Sox games in the Bronx? I go every year and I've never seen one.

Who says I was to only one game?

To my original point: I said it would only happen in those three cities...and it has.  I didn't say it happens all the time.  You show me a fight at any other ballpark where it got that out of hand.

I think it was not mentioned in the story but it actually happened during the pope's mass at Yankee Stadium! :)

"Who says I was to only one game?"

Let's start with you living in Toronto. Do I even need to say anymore?

Hmm I seem to remember a brawl between players and fans in St. Louis, Detroit and Los Angeles in the recent past. Just for starters. Whats the common factor in all these situations (Yankees-Sox included)? ALCOHOL! It has NOTHING to do with what city your in. The only thing that location determines is how bad of a beating you catch, or how easy it is to set someone off.

Just because I live in Toronto now doesn't mean I haven't lived anywhere else.
You actually made my point when you said:

"The only thing that location determines is how bad of a beating you catch, or how easy it is to set someone off."

Guess I was trying to say is that  most other major league cities, the fans are more tolerant.

See now I would interpret that as the fans being wusses. If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

Back to my original point for a second...Have you ever been to a Phillies-Mets game?

I got into a fight at a Yankees-Mets interleague game against my own cousin who I when to see it with at Shea, he brough the tickets also if I may add. That sh-- got so serious other people were throwing fists too. They took like 30 people out of the stadium cause of that. As we got out here came the cop cars and so everyone started to bolt in different directions. My cousin got caught and taken down to the station. Got himself a fine attach to the beatdown I gave him. All this cause the Yanks was losing. I'm way to sensitive when my team loses. Baseball or Football. Fu-- it, I'll be more than happy to throw a few fists for them, call me a trouble maker but to me...it's all part of being a true sports fan. And in case your wondering....me and my cousin are still one of the closets in the entire family....LMAO.

Trusts me Buttons...it wasn't only cause they were losing. Other things lead to that, like him mouthing off far too much. And then he was directing it at me, already knowing how I get. Lead me to believe he deserved a pop in the mouth, which he got. We got over it, and plan on going to the Stadium together this year before they knock it down. Gosh I love that guy....lol.
