I'm sure a number of you out there have wasted a few hours of your life imitating MLB players' swings. It's a fun thing to do, since MLB batting stances are so unique that if you do them well, everyone will know exactly who you're imitating.
My personal favorite mock batting stance is Darryl Strawberry, and I always end it by doing a fake line of cocaine off the back of an imaginary hooker.
But one guy has taken swing imitations to an extreme. He does a slew of awesome batting stances from the past, present, and future. Well, not the future, but you get my point. And rather than nail him for wasting his time, I'd like to salute him for being the most awesome guy in the history of the world. Bugs and Cranks says that the guy is a 35-year-old father of two, which means he's obviously spending his time well. Anyway, first up is the Cardinals, with the Willie McGee swing being absolutely priceless.
If you dig around YouTube some more, he also has some other gems. Let's take a look at some of the others.
Here are the Red Sox. The Mo Vaughn one nearly killed me.
And the Yankees.
And last, but not least, a random assortment of 80s players.
By the way, Bugs and Cranks asked if this guy was available for parties. My guess would be yes, because you'll notice he actually has an email address that he gives at the end of one the videos: battingstances@hotmail.com
All I know is this. I'm going to have the best birthday party EVAR.
