I guess this is what Urban Meyer gets for leaving Tim Tebow in the game with almost a 4-TD lead late in the 3rd quarter. He got hit by an unguarded Taylor Wyndham with about 4 minutes left in the 3rd, and his head hit the knee of one of his offensive lineman, resulting in what looked like a concussion.
Tebow left the game with some assistance, and no word yet about the severity of the injury. My guess is that he'll be back in 2 weeks when they play at LSU. He likely would have been fine if they played next week, but they get a week off, which works pretty well for Tebow and the Gators.

sadly enough he is a far lesser talented alex smith.

Tim Tebow is not a good QB. Period. He is successful in Florida's system, but it has nothing to do with his skills as a quarterback.
Oh I actually agree with you on this too. He does have poor throwing mechanics and has thrived in UF's system, and also benefitted by the terrific speed of Harvin and the current runningbacks on the team. But his leadership and character are undisputed, and that, to me, makes him one of the best football players ever to play at the college level.

You seem to only care about college QBs and their ability to be effective in the NFL, hence your constant bashing of Tebow. I, unlike others on here, have NEVER said Tebow was an NFL-caliber QB. He hasn't taken snaps under center in a pro-style offense, and his wind-up reminds me of Byron Leftwich's. But I think he could change positions and be an effective and successful halfback in the NFL. He could also run a few plays for a team under a wildcat formation.
Matt Ryan's a good NFL QB, but let's not overstate his impact on the Falcons his rookie year - he was helped tremendously by Michael Turner and an improved defense. But I do agree with you (shocker!) that Ryan does have a bright future in the NFL and could quite possiblt be one of the next great QBs.
The thing is, being a great college QB does not require someone to be a great QB. I know that sounds contradictory, but there are a lot of guys who succeed in college WITHOUT good QB skills. Also, consider the team that Matt Ryan had around him, compared to the team Tebow has around him. Week in and week out, Florida is FAR more talented than their opponent. That could rarely be said for BC.

Matt Ryan is one of the next great NFL QB's. That's a fact. If you don't believe it yet, you will, by the time his career is over.
I would bet literally anything that Tim Tebow will never be anywhere near the caliber of Matt Ryan as an NFL QB.
You said Ryan was better than any QB in or ever to come out of UF. I completely disagree. Heisman trophies are NOT irrelevant in this argument. Being a good QB in college involves good stats AND good leadership, both of which applied to Danny Wuerfful and also currently apply to Tebow. I know your hatred towards Tebow is irrationally obsessive, but for anyone to discount all that Tebow has accomplished at UF is just flat-out ignorant. When his college career is over, he will be known as one of the best college football PLAYERS. PERIOD. End of discussion.

The Heisman is irrelevant. There have been quite a few QB's who have won the Heisman, only to have no future whatsoever at the position. The Super Bowl argument is also irrelevant, since there are great QB's who have never won, and crappy QB's who HAVE a ring.

Well, "Matty Ice" didn't win the Heisman, and he hasn't led the Falcons to the SB YET, so I'd hold off that prediction for now......

I dislike the Gator's alot but tim tebow is a real special player and i hope he's ok. However they did release him from the hospital a few hours ago so that a great sign and they got the week off. (Were praying for you bro.)

Being the best player in college football? That's a stretch! He may be the best quarterback in the SEC but there are many more in the ncaa. He'll be gun shy when he comes back and his course of throwing will show it!

The man is sick shows some heart by kicking the Kats, Why leave him in with that much of a lead? Now with the concussion and flu his return will be saved by the by week only?

like they said. the sack wasnt really bad enogh to knock him out like that. it is the hit to the back of the head. that is why in boxing you cant punch back there. and in karate the most points are given for that type of hit. b-cuz it will kytfo.

I still think the hit that the USF guy laid on the Florida State guy yesterday was about ten times as brutal as that hit.
If only UK would've played with that intensity the whole game...

You should be mad. Right now, for the time being Texas is the best team in the nation.

Oh and I can't believe no one has said this yet so I guess I will (Please understand I mean this in jest as my QB Bradford has already gone down. I would never wish serious injury to anyone, minor maybe.)
Tebow got TebOWNED!!!!

Well I don't think they realized how bad the hit was. I mean when you get a huge sack you are fired up, you don't think "I sure hope I didn't kill him" you know?

I'm actually a Boston College fan, to be honest... but that's pretty irrelevant. If you really want to trash talk BC, just know that Matt Ryan is a better QB than anyone who has ever, or will ever come out of the University of Florida.

I hate to have my reputation sullied by people thinking I'm classy and tasteful, but thanks anyway, because I think that was meant as a compliment. But yeah, I might joke about it here and there, but I never really want to see someone hurt, even if I hate them. I'd rather see Tebow get beat when he's at his best, than get hurt.

He was also not feeling so hot before the game too so that probably doesn't help the issue.
9/26/09 | gmchubbaggie2017
I hope Tebow is okay. He's a great person on and off the field..... Hate to see that happen to him.
