Mercury Morris will probably go on ESPN once again to thank a New York team, after the New York Jets beat the Tennessee Titans 34-13 to put a blemish on the Titans' formerly perfect record. Fortunately, the Titans only won 10 games to start the season, so Mercury wasn't in the news as much as he was last year, when the Patriots came within one minute of finishing the perfect season.
In a surprising result, the Titans defense played way under par, allowing the Jets to score seemingly at will. Their offense sputtered as well, as their trademark running game only gave them 44 yards.
The Titans fell behind early, but started to creep back in the 3rd quarter. However, the Jets scored 14 points in the 4th quarter to put it out of reach.
Fortunately, the Lions remain winless, so one team still has a chance to have a "perfect" season.
