Jessica Simpson Ruins Tony Romo, Cowboys' Season Again With Her Mere Presence
7/14/08
Super Tony Romo has two obvious forms of Kryptonite. We already know he doesn't actually perform well with Jessica Simpson watching live, and it's now been cemented that lover boy isn't skilled with it comes to handling wet conditions. Just ask the Seattle Seahawks' ball guys.
Yesterday, at the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic in Lake Tahoe, Romo was forced to play an awkward bunker shot on the 1st hole. The result? A backwards tumble into the pond. Oh no! Cowboys season is ruined! (Somehow, video has yet to surface, but it's only a matter of time. For now you'll have to settle for his drive) Little surprise that Jessica Simpson was in attendance, likely very impressed with her man's balance.
Jeremy Roenick had to come in and save the day.
"I rescued Tony Romo," said Roenick, who finished the day at 39 points. "I wish it was worth five points [in the Stableford system] because then I’d be right there with 44 ... I think I was the difference between him getting his pants wet and his whole body wet. He was a true warrior out there today."Former MLB pitcher Rick Rhoden, who generally wins all these events, won again yesterday.
Who finished dead last you ask? I don't think you needed to. Charles Barkley, of course, who shot an 81. To Tony Romo's credit, he's a hell of a golfer and finished 2nd... a place he'll likely get real familiar with during his Cowboys tenure.
