I can safely say that any and all my knowledge of hockey stems from NHL '94. If a player wasn't around then, chances are I have no clue who he is today.
When I was 14, I had only one tough decision to make each day. Do I play Tecmo Bowl for NHL '94 all day. I rarely chose the latter, but if I did it was "Jeremy Roenik Time."
In honor of his retirement, Sports Hernia put together a little tribute to the video game hero.
"Roenick was a beast in every sense of the word, nearly impossible to take down, dished out murderous body checks and flashed a one-timer that went through torsos; all this with a relatively modest rating of 87 out of 100. He quickly became one of the most feared names in homes across the nation, quite possibly only taking a back seat to the immortal Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson."
