If you've ever played baseball and had the home plate umpire make a bad call, you've probably said to yourself "Man, I just wish the catcher would take a dive so we could nail the ump in the face with a fastball."
I've never seen, or even heard, of anyone actually successfully pulling that off. But as of today, I have.
By the way, if you think this was intentional, it sure as hell was, even though the team says it wasn't.
Why was it intentional? Well here's the background.
The brother of the Stephens County pitcher was called out on strikes for the final out of the previous inning. He was the ninth consecutive Stephens County batter to strike out, and he argued with the home-plate umpire afterward, throwing his batting helmet.
Also, when the pitch was thrown, in the 4th inning, Stephens County was down 9-1.
Yeah, nothing fishy about that at all.
