Shockingly, we've already entered this portion of the calendar. It's time to do that year in review sort of thing, so over the final days of 2007 we'll be looking back on the top sports events as highlighted by FanIQ. Since I'm hardly a wordsmith, you'll notice this amount to a video recap ...
Just 18 hours into our new year we were treated to arguably the top sports highlight of 2007. Aside from any game involving the green and white, the final 30 minutes of the Fiesta Bowl were the most thrilling college football experience of my life.
Boise State battling Oklahoma possessed all the necessary components for a captivating sports moment. The underdog with no chance, the comeback, the other comeback, signature trick play(s) and of course, the romantic grand finale. It's the greatest college football game I've ever watched and in my world can be defined in its appeal by the fact my girlfriend for the only 1 hour of her life was genuinely engaged, and thrilled to be watching football.
Never again will you see three "gadget" plays executed so perfectly in the clutch. The hook-and-ladder, the HB Pass, and the Statue of Liberty are all now associated with the Fiesta Bowl. As a result the college football "mid-major" will always have a place in the Bowl Championship Series.
