What If Gordon Bombay Didn't Blow A .08?

The NHL Is Stepping Up It's Stanley Cup Playoff Commercial Game

Longtime readers of the blog probably remember, maybe, last year when I professed my love for great NBA Playoff commercials. Well the NHL (or a NHL fan) has decided that he wants to start getting people ready for the Stanley Cup playoffs and I must say, it has me ready and I never watch hockey.

In what is the first of hopefully many "History Will Be Made" commercials for the Stanley Cup playoffs, we get to relive Charlie "Spazway" Conway's championship winning penalty shot against the Hawks while asking the question "What if Gordon Bombay didn't blow a .08?"

If the NHL wants to bring in some casual fans, or at least get us talking about, I strongly encourage them to continue to pump out more videos like this.

I love the real videos. if there's one thing the NHL markets right, it's the playoffs, always great commercials/ads

They don't make hockey commercials very often. How rare!

That was much better than the real ones. LOL! We're getting bombarded with them up here in the great white north. They're pretty good, just not THAT good. (I like Messier's the best so far.)
