Believe it or not, I actually once covered the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Unfortunately for me, nothing this hilarious happened when I was there.

This is eventual champ Sameer Nishra who was asked to spell the word "numnah."

But that's not what Sameer originally heard, nor was it what I originally heard.

I tell you, those spelling bee judges - total perverts.
