Wantaway Liverpool star Luis Suarez continues to stir interest in transfer market
Luis Suarez continues to make a whirlpool interest in the transfer market. Liverpool’s coveted striker has been linked with big moves to top notch clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid are still the frontrunner’s for the Uruguayan hit-man, but Arsenal’s raised bid of £35 million is set to upset the race.
Liverpool have snubbed Arsenal’s bid for Luis Suarez, but they haven’t been able the shake of Real Madrid. The Spanish club hasn’t come up with an official bid, but once their bid arrives it is expected to tower over Arsenal’s attempt to sign the striker.
The notorious striker just recently admitted he might stay in the Premier League after all. Luis Suarez explained that interest from Arsenal had been a big confidence boost for him, especially after being lambasted by English media.
The wantaway star is currently under a ten-match ban from the Football Association for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. The 26-year-old Uruguay internationals has also been linked to racial abuse, diving and provoking players.
Bayern Munich have remained extremely quiet about signing in Luis Suarez, although they showed a lot of interest in the striker a couple of weeks ago. Same is the case with Chelsea. On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain are ready to break their banks for the versatile forward.
Last week Pere Guardiola, agent of Luis Suarez, announced that his client’s desire to play in the Champions League was forcing him to move away from Liverpool. Pere Guardiola also confirmed that Luis Suarez was being linked with “two to three” serious moves to top notch clubs from Europe.
“There are a few options and the club knows that. Are there any concrete options? No, so far there hasn't been any,” Luis Suarez said. “There are two or three clubs who I think are willing and the club knows that.
“My agent is in charge, he knows what I want. I have to present myself on July 21 to Liverpool for their tour of Australia but no one knows what could happen. I've already said what I have to say and initially I have to be there on the 21 but maybe a phone call one day can change all your plans.”
For now only mere speculation is being circulated by media, speculation that Luis Suarez has grown tired of. Upon being questioned about interest from a mega-rich clubs such as Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid the striker chose to remain discrete.
“It does amuse you because they [the media] don't know anything,” Luis Suarez said. “I think it was my wife told me that I am going to speak French [at PSG] with Edinson Cavani. She comes and tells me something different all the time.
“Or when I'm having a chat with my brother-in-law and he says 'I saw Chelsea want Luis Suarez' and I say, 'Ah yeah, I see you're eating up what the press say'. I say to him they know more than we do and it's funny. For now everything is going well - I am very calm.”
