Let's get the obvious out of the way -- Oden's 10 fouls and Durant's 5-for-17 performance in their first NBA Summer League games in no way shape or form provide any foreshadowing into their respective NBA careers. They are both going to be spectacular. All things considered, it's still nice to see immediate dividends -- however insignificant -- from your first round draft pick. Warriors rookie Marc Belinelli said hello to the NBA today in a rather emphatic fashion.
In a performance that is sure to be talked about for many summers to come, Belinelli lit up the Hornets defense for 37 points. He connected on 14-of-20 shots from the floor, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, to help the Warriors earn a 110-102 win.
Much like Oden and Durant, this first game might not be the end all be all, but it's a promising sign for the rookie from Italy.
