Washington Redskins fans thought Daniel Snyder had officially lost his mind when he couldn't close the deal with his initial list of head coaching candidates and went with Jim Zorn, who'd never so much as attained a coordinator position. Safe to assume Zorn and Snyder have won over not just Redskins fans, but the NFL as a whole.
Trailing 14-0 before anyone even had a chance to tune-in -- Brian Westbrook TD run and then a lightning quick DeSean Jackson punt return -- the Skins didn't fold on the road in Philadelphia.
The key was for Jason Campbell to continue his error free play and to begin establishing more of a ground attack. Check and check. Campbell continued his consistent management of the West Coast offense, completing 16 or 29 passes for 176 yards and no interceptions. Clinton Portis took advantage of the holes provided for him and ran for a season-high 146 yards and a touchdown.
Back to back road wins in Dallas and Philadelphia have me believing Washington is the second best team in the NFL right now. Unfortunately, they're still 2nd best in their own division. For now, at least.
With a home game next week vs. St. Louis, you can go ahead and lock in the Redskins for the most impressive start of this NFL season.
