The Washington Football Team hits rock bottom
The Chiefs controlled this game throughout. They led 17-0 after the first quarter, and 38-10 at the half. Washington's special teams, already the worst in football by a wide margin, were beyond terrible. First, they gave up a punt return touchdown to Dexter McCluster, which made it 31-0 in the second quarter. Then, after finally scoring a touchdown, Washington gave it right back on a 95 yard kickoff return by Quinton Demps.
As a result of the first half embarrassment, this is what the stands at FedEx Field looked like in the second half.
One thing Washington fans were likely happy about is that Kirk Cousins made an appearance in the second half. A faction of the fanbase has wanted Cousins to play since Week 1. He went 7/16 for 59 yards.
Washington is now 3-10, tied for the second worst record in the league. However, due to the RGIII trade, their first round pick this year is property for the Rams. Washington fans can only hope this is rock bottom, but given their dysfunction, that isn't a guarantee.
