But Charlotte, North Carolina and their Carolina Panthers are switching allegiances on Ric Flair, following the Saturday night pre-game pep talk (video below) that Flair delivered to the San Francisco 49ers. Flair not only aided and brought comfort to the Panthers' NFC playoff rival, the Master of the Figure-Four Leglock also declared in his speech that "Ric Flair’s heart is with the 49ers all the way to the end."

The Carolina Panthers feel blindsided. Flair has been a Panthers season ticket holder, and his image has been used in scoreboard displays at Carolina home games. The team uses Flair's trademark "Woooooo!" as a team call. Just three days ago, ESPN ran an article called Panthers have a 'Flair' for success.

But the Carolina Panthers are no longer his horsemen after Ric Flair gave a pre-game speech to the San Francisco 49ers. You can see video below of the pep talk Flair delivered to the 49ers the night before their 23-20 Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers.

It's not that great a speech, frankly. I don't know that I've ever seen Flair so subdued in proximity to a microphone or camera.

Panthers beat writer Tom Sorenson of the Charlotte Observer tweeted Monday morning that "Ric Flair & Steve Smith are buddies. But Smith wasn't too friendly Monday. About Flair he said: 'That San Francisco bridge has been burned'."

Panthers corner Drayton Florence indicated the team would no longer "Wooooo". "That was during the regular season, Florence told ESPN. "It's the playoffs now. We're more worried about stopping Crabtree and Vernon Davis."
