But the Carolina Panthers are no longer his horsemen after Ric Flair gave a pre-game speech to the San Francisco 49ers. You can see video below of the pep talk Flair delivered to the 49ers the night before their 23-20 Wild Card win over the Green Bay Packers.
It's not that great a speech, frankly. I don't know that I've ever seen Flair so subdued in proximity to a microphone or camera.
But it's enough that the Carolina Panthers are no longer fair to Flair. Panthers beat writer Tom Sorenson of the Charlotte Observer tweeted Monday morning that "Ric Flair & Steve Smith are buddies. But Smith wasn't too friendly Monday. About Flair he said: 'That San Francisco bridge has been burned'."
Panthers corner Drayton Florence indicated the team would no longer "Wooooo". "That was during the regular season, Florence told ESPN. "It's the playoffs now. We're more worried about stopping Crabtree and Vernon Davis."
