About Me:
I get goosebumps for exciting victories and tears for championship defeat (even if it's not my team). I thrive on football and hockey, but I'll watch almost any sport - and give me enough time, I'll be obsessed. I cheer for the underdog if I don't have a set team preference for a specific game - and I'm thrilled when the Cinderella team wins it all (as long as it's not against my team!) Pro-retirement ceremonies are one of the very few things that can make me cry but I always watch them anyway. I LOVE road trips and anything outdoorsy - but my idea of *A* perfect day is spent curled up in an overstuffed chair with sunflower seeds and a drink, the Q on the laptop, the NFL on from morning through afternoon and the NHL in the evening on a big screen TV. Color me happy...but call me lazy.

Wednesday Night Hockey - Open Game Thread

When this video first came out, I cried. I watch it now, and it's incredibly cheesy. It's kind of fun to look back though; I think they first aired this right around the Heritage Classic back in Nov. 2003. Now even some of the "young guys" on the pond could be talking about some of the newer young guys now. Anyway, enjoy the vid below, provided by NHL.tv.

After watching my Ducks blow a 2-0 lead and lose in the shoot out last night, I'm surprisingly optimistic; I think they'll take the Nucks in a fairly low scoring game tonight. Other picks:
Maple Leafs @ Flyers: I'm pretty sure the Flyers will win this home game. They need to.
Flames @ Capitals: I think that the Capitals pull off the upset here; as long as Backstrom remembers which net is his and Kipper or Cujo aren't stingy.
Sabres @ Penguins: I have to put my money on the Penguins here. Not that it wouldn't be cool to see the Sabres pull it off, but...really?
Islanders @ Panthers: I don't know why, but something tells me the Panthers.
Hurricanes @ Blackhawks: Again, I don't know why, but I think the Blackhawks pull it off. Maybe I'm just going for all the home teams tonight?
